LEAD

(Leveraging Extracurricular Activities for Developments)

Within universities and colleges, students have access to various clubs and organizations, however, they may not be aware that these associations exist. Our platform LEAD aims to solve the problem that is the lack of information resources solely focused on clubs at universities.

Problem Statement

We discovered that University of Washington has an enormous amount of resources and opportunities. However, we also found out that many of the resources are not easily accessible. They require navigation among different platforms, websites, or social media to receive the resource information. For such reason, some students, like first-generation college students, low-income family students, minority students, and other types of students, are being put into disadvantages due to lack of access to information and knowledge to gain the resources. So our goal is to build an app or platform that aims to bring inclusive, accessible, integrated, and personalized college resources to any type of student here at University of Washington.

User Research

We randomly sent out the survey to U.S. college students. The purpose of the survey was to understand how college students choose student organizations and how we could improve the current service that’s helping them to make the choice. Finally, we received 65 anonymous responses.
